Now
for the REAL story. As
Casey will tell you, I deserve all the credit for Richard and her
joining together as husband and wife!
Well, I’m sure the two of them actually deserve most of the
credit for their relationship but without the opportunity to meet, these
two lovebirds may never have discovered each other at all. -- That’s
where I come in.
Regardless
of what Maziar may claim, their meeting WAS NOT a setup by anyone.
In fact, I don’t think Maziar had even met Casey before that
night so I highly doubt he was playing Chuck Woolery by trying to make a
love connection with anyone --
Not to mention that he was very intoxicated and I would be surprised if
he (correctly) remembers any of the details of the night. (yes, I have
proof on video)
Here’s
what really happened….Maziar, a resident of London at the time, was on
a short visit to the States and his brother, Babak, kindly arranged for
the guys associated with the “Minovi DC clique" to get together.
Of course, being the girlfriend of Babak (now wife), I was
invited to this occasion and had mentioned to my best friend Casey that
she was more than welcome to come and hang out with us after dinner.
I was also in the process of making a “happy birthday” video
for Babak’s 35th birthday so I had mentioned that it might
be a good time for me to get everyone on film if the opportunity arose.
At around 10pm, Casey and her friend, Alin, decided to join the
party and we know what happened after that.
There
you have it plain and simple. I
set the stage and after that point it was ALL up to Casey and Richard,
who had little hearts floating around their heads after their first
glance. If it weren’t for
Babak and I arranging the dinner party in the first place and my very
important decision to invite Casey over to join us, who knows what sad
fate these two would have suffered.
If Maziar thinks that his drunkenness had anything to do with
inspiring romance in anyone, he should think again.
Unfortunately, he is the only one who can remember him playing
matchmaker that night and considering he didn’t even know Casey when
she walked in the door, I am convinced that he just wants the attention
of his name being mentioned in a thank you speech at the wedding.
